"TAVANTOLGOI COAL TERMINAL STOCK" PROJECT
The implementation of the “TAVANTOLGOI COAL TERMINAL STOCK” project has commenced this year to increase exports and reduce transportation costs of “ERDENES TAVANTOLGOI” JSC and it is located in the “TAVANTOLGOI” coal deposit area of Tsogtsetsii soum in Umnugovi province.
This logistics center, equipped with advanced technology, shall have the annual capacity to load 20 million tons of raw coal onto trains for export.
“BODI INTERNATIONAL” LLC has been selected as the main Contractor of the Project and the required funding is to be provided by “TAVANTOLGOI TUMUR ZAM” LLC.
The primary purpose of “TAVANTOLGOI COAL TERMINAL STOCK” project is to load raw coal mined from West and East Tsankhi mines of “ERDENES TAVANTOLGOI” JSC onto Trains of “Tavantolgoi – Gashuunsuhait” and “Tavantolgoi – Zuunbayan” railways and to continuously supply raw coal to the Coal Concentration Plant, a project which is to belaunched according to medium term business plan of “ERDENES TAVANTOLGOI” JSC from 2021 to 2025.
The project was started in August 2021, and the project design, equipment procurement, installation, and testing continue for a total of 31 months and will be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
AN INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITY WHICH COMPRISES OF 7 SECTIONS OF PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY
The Main Equipment such as Primary Crusher, Conveyors, Stacker, Reclaimers, and Train Load Out facility shall be equipped with fully automatic SCADA system which is to be monitored and controlled from a Centralized Control Room.
The Project phases include the following facilities:
- Primary Crusher with capacity of - 20 million tons/year
- Stacker with capacity of – 20 million tons/year
- Reclaimers with capacity of – 20 million tons/year
- Train Load Out facility with capacity of – 27 million tons/year
- Coal transportation to Coal Concentration Plant by Conveyor with capacity of – 20 million tons/ year
The required power for the Project is planned to be supplied from the 2×40 MWa “Tsankhi” substation of110/35/6kV located in 0.6 km from the Project site.
